Erin Hames serves as Headmaster at Heritage Preparatory School since July 2019, bringing extensive experience in educational policy and administration. Prior to this role, Hames was President of ReformEd from September 2015 to December 2019, focusing on improving educational opportunities and outcomes for children in Georgia. Hames has also held significant positions including Deputy Chief of Staff for Policy under Governor Nathan Deal, where a constitutional amendment for an Opportunity School District was advanced, and Chief of Staff for the Georgia Department of Education, where early implementation of Georgia’s Race to the Top plan was led. Hames has contributed to academic policy as an instructor at Georgia Institute of Technology and has a solid teaching background as a Social Studies Teacher in the Wake County Public School System. Hames holds a Juris Doctor from Georgia State University College of Law and a Bachelor of Science in Education from The University of Georgia.
