Philipp Karsten

Philipp Karsten's work experience begins in 2011 as a Scientific Assistant at the University of Hamburg, where they worked until 2014. From 2008 to 2018, they also gained experience as a Student Employee at Jenike & Jenike Retail Expansion. In 2014, Philipp began working as a Research Doctorate at the University of Hamburg, specializing in Bacterial Genetics and Protein Synthesis. During this time, they focused on genetic manipulation of organisms and screening for new enzymes. In 2018, Philipp worked as an Account Manager at Curium Pharma until 2020. Currently, they hold the position of Director of Sales for Germany and Switzerland at Hermes Medical Solutions since April 2020, and will be promoted to Senior Director Sales DACH.

Philipp Karsten earned a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Biology from the University of Hamburg between 2008 and 2011. Philipp then pursued a Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Microbiology from the same university, which they completed from 2011 to 2013. Continuing their academic journey, Philipp obtained a Doktor (Ph.D.) degree in Microbiology and Biotechnology from the University of Hamburg from 2014 to 2022. In addition to their formal education, they also obtained a certification as a Quality Management Officer from DEKRA in December 2017.
