Joe Schoneman

Senior Loads & Dynamics Engineer at Hermeus

Joe Schoneman has a diverse work experience, beginning with their service in the United States Marine Corps from 2006 to 2014. During this time, they were an Infantry Team Leader, responsible for leading three junior Marines in combat preparation and deployment exercises. From 2014 to 2016, Joe worked as a Project Engineer at ATA Engineering and as a Structural Analyst Co-op at Mercury Marine. In 2015, they also had an internship at Orbital Technologies Corporation (ORBITEC) as a Propulsion Engineer, where they designed and prototyped an additively manufactured component for use on future propulsion systems. From 2014 to 2022, Joe was a NSF Graduate Research Fellow at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, researching substructuring methods for developing reduced order models to represent nonlinear, large-deformation structures. Joe is currently a Senior Loads & Dynamics Engineer at Hermeus.

Joe Schoneman attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison from 2010 to 2014, where they earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Engineering Mechanics. Joe then returned to the same university from 2014 to 2016 to obtain a Master of Science (M.S.) in Engineering Mechanics.
