Gopinath MK has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Gopinath is currently serving as the Vice President of Business Development at Hero Motors, a position they started in August 2021. Prior to this, Gopinath held the role of General Manager at GESTAMP AUTOMOTIVE CHENNAI PRIVATE LIMITED for ten years, from September 2011 to August 2021. Gopinath also worked as the Commercial Manager at Gestamp India from September 2011 to March 2014, where they focused on new businesses, plant EBITDA, 5-year business plans, and brand image improvement. Additionally, Gopinath has experience as an Assistant Manager at Rane Brake Lining from April 2008 to September 2011, as a Commercial Executive at Stumpp Schuele & Somappa Springs Pvt. Ltd. from February 2004 to March 2008, and as a Process Engineer at Kavia Engineering Pvt Ltd from April 2001 to February 2004.

Gopinath MK completed their Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering from Shri Angalamman College of Engineering and Technology between 1997 and 2001. Later, they pursued a Post Graduate Executive Program in Business Administration and Management, General from Great Lakes Institute of Management from 2016 to 2018. Additionally, Gopinath obtained certifications in Business Development: Strategic Planning from LinkedIn in July 2021, Effective Personal Productivity from Leadership Management International, Inc. in February 2019, and Born to Win from Leadership Management International, Inc. in June 2016.
