Mindy Fohn

Mindy Fohn is a Senior Scientist at Herrera Environmental Consultants. Mindy has over twelve years of experience in water quality management and education and outreach program development and implementation. Mindy has a passion for protecting the marine environment and teaching others about the importance of water quality.

Mindy started their career as a Water Quality Manager for Kitsap County Public Works. In this role, they were responsible for NPDES Phase II Permit Compliance, IDDE Program Development and Implementation, Education and Outreach Program Development and Implementation, Silverdale Stormwater Retrofit Program, Stormwater Retrofit Construction Project Management, Stormwater Facility Construction and Education Grant Applications, Reporting and Management, Water quality compliance for Municipal Operations, Regional advisory groups including Stormwater Action Monitoring, Source Control, Business Inspections, O&M, Education and Local Integrating Organization, Puget Sound Partnership Vital Signs Report, Stormwater program performance metrics program, and Branding/Marketing Clean Water Kitsap.

In November 2018, Mindy became an Instructor at Western Washington University. In this role, they developed and implemented marine science field investigations, guest taught at Kitsap middle and high schools, lead taught GEMS and STEM programs for middle school and Girl Scouts, and lead taught Middle School Marine Science Summer Camp.

Mindy is currently a Senior Scientist at Herrera Environmental Consultants. In this role, they provide technical assistance to a wide variety of clients on projects related to water quality management, stormwater pollution prevention, Low Impact Development (LID), green infrastructure (GI), site planning/design review, wetland delineation/permitting, ecological risk assessment (ERA), environmental baseline studies (EBS), environmental compliance auditing (ECA), environmental due diligence (EDD), air quality permitting/modeling and litigation support services.

Mindy Fohn earned a Bachelor of Science in Bacteriology and Public Health from Washington State University.
