Hertfordshire Community Foundation
Richard Roberts has extensive experience in leadership and public service within Hertfordshire, currently serving as a Board Member for the Hertfordshire & West Essex Integrated Care System Partnership Board since 2020 and as the Leader of Hertfordshire County Council since 2003. Roberts has held multiple key roles, including Chair of the Health and Wellbeing Board and Cabinet Member for Adult Social Care, where recognition was received for support to care providers during the Covid-19 pandemic. Other significant contributions include delivering the first prevention strategy and establishing Health Centres as Cabinet Member for Public Health, and fostering partnerships with health and the voluntary sector as Cabinet Member for Partnerships and Performance. In addition to council duties, Roberts is involved with several organizations as an Ambassador for Hertfordshire Community Foundation, a Trustee for Community Action Dacorum, and has held governance roles at Kings Langley Secondary School. Roberts holds a Geology BSc (Hons) from The University of Sheffield and an MSc in Environmental Studies from the University of Strathclyde.

Hertfordshire Community Foundation (HCF) is an independent charity that encourages local giving to make Hertfordshire a better place to live, for everyone. Thanks to the support of our donors we provide grants to families in crisis, grassroots charities and voluntary groups, helping some of our county's most vulnerable residents. Over the past three decades HCF has funded thousands of local initiatives addressing complex social issues including domestic abuse, learning disabilities, bereavement, homelessness, mental health and many more.
