Andrew Slentz

Andrew Slentz is the SVP Human Resources and Office Management at Hess Corporation. Andrew has held this position since April 2016. Prior to joining Hess, Slentz was the Executive Vice President, Administration & Human Resources at Peabody Energy from June 2010 to April 2016. In this role, they had enterprise accountability for Human Resources, Information Technology, Facilities, Aviation and Security for a $7 billion global energy company with 8,300 employees. Andrew also served as the interim responsibility for the Legal function during transition period of separating Chief Legal Officer. Slentz redesigned administration functions to support platform-wide expansion via acquisitions and divestitures, C-suite succession, organizational restructure and cultural re-alignment.

Before joining Peabody Energy, Slentz was the Vice President People & Org Support at Rio Tinto from February 2005 to June 2010. In this role, they led the Americas support organization for a $30 billion mining corporation with 70,000 employees. Andrew was also the integration leader for a $40 billion acquisition with assets in Americas, Europe, Asia and Australia. Their team consisted of 8 direct reports and 100 indirect staff responsible for servicing 25,000 employees in 6 countries. Under their leadership, the company achieved M&A integration synergies in excess of $1 billion. Additionally, they were appointed Chairman of Canadian corporate subsidiary with 500 employees and CND$60 million budget. Andrew also managed a CND$40 million corporate office development project and facilities management. Lastly, they implemented SAP global design and transition from PeopleSoft/Oracle.

Andrew Slentz earned a Masters of Industrial & Labor Relations from Cornell University in the field of Human Resources. Andrew also holds a Bachelor of Arts (BA) from Hamilton College in Government/Political Science.
