Kenneth Petersen is an experienced geological advisor with a career spanning over three decades in the petroleum industry. Currently serving as a Senior Geological Advisor at Hess Corporation since April 2014, Petersen has focused on petroleum systems analysis across various conventional exploration projects globally, particularly along the Atlantic Margins, as well as supporting operational activities in Guyana. Prior to this role, Petersen worked at ExxonMobil for nearly 18 years, where responsibilities included integrated petroleum systems analysis for the Cepu Block in Indonesia, leading coal bed methane exploration projects, and providing mentorship to national staff. Petersen's previous positions also include roles as a Senior Research Specialist and Exploration Geologist, with extensive experience in basin modeling and petroleum geochemistry. Academic credentials include a Ph.D. in Geoscience from the University of South Carolina and a Master’s and Bachelor’s degree from Aarhus University in Geological and Earth Sciences and Mathematics, respectively.
