Anneke van der Giessen has extensive experience in music therapy and education, currently serving as a member of the Regioraad at ASVZ since September 2021 and as a piano teacher at De Ambachtse Muziekschool since February 2022. Since 1990, Anneke has worked at Het Parkhuis as a music therapist, mediator for complaints, editorial member for the personnel magazine, trust person, and choir pianist/conductor, focusing on the therapeutic benefits of music for individuals with acquired brain injuries. Anneke established a music therapy practice at Het Parkhuis in 1993, highlighting its effectiveness for conditions like dementia and anorexia. Previous roles include music therapist at Gemiva-SVG Groep and various advisory and teaching positions throughout South Holland and Zeeland. Anneke is also noted for contributions to the documentary "Mijn kind heeft dementie" and for publishing a column book titled "Melodie van vervaagde herinneringen."
