Philip Farrugia has a strong background in manufacturing and process optimization. Philip is currently serving as the Vice President of Manufacturing at Methode Electronics since February 2021. Prior to that, they held the role of Managing Director at Hetronic Inc. from May 2017 to December 2021. Additionally, Philip worked at Methode Electronics Malta Ltd. for several years in various senior management roles, including Senior Manager of Process Optimization & Continuous Improvement and Lean & Continuous Improvement Manager. Their experience also includes roles such as Continuous Improvement & Tooling Manager, Operations Manager, and Manufacturing Engineering Manager, where they focused on implementing automated assembly equipment and driving cost reduction initiatives.
Philip Farrugia began their education at Gorg Grognet De Vasse Technical College, where they obtained a Diploma in Engineering with a focus on Manufacturing Engineering from 1986 to 1990. Later, from 2000 to 2004, they pursued an MBA degree in Strategic Operations at Henley Management College. In 2011, Philip attended Toyota Training Centre Japan to specialize in Line Balancing and Waste Reduction through the completion of a program in Value Stream Mapping & Line Balancing. In the same year, they also obtained a 1st Degree in Process Flow Mapping as a Kaizen Manager at Kaizen Institute. Lastly, in 2014 and 2015, they attended Learn Firm to become a Hoshin Kanri Practitioner, focusing on strategic process planning with an emphasis on aligning organizational resources towards the most important goals.
