Kerim Colak has worked in various roles in the engineering field since 1998. Kerim began their career at Istanbul Transportation Co. as a Research and Development Engineer, where they were responsible for climatization of Istanbul Tramway vehicles, manufacturing of electrified personnel vehicles and battery powered railway vehicles, and design of railway grinding machine traction systems and auxiliary power systems. Kerim was also responsible for type tests of railway vehicles, acceleration and deceleration tests, anti skid and anti slip tests, no voltage and high voltage tests.
In 2010, they joined NYU Polytechnic School of Engineering as a Research and Teaching Assistant and Instructor.
In 2013, they began working at Metro Istanbul as a Training Chief and Senior Electrical Engineer.
Most recently, in 2021, they joined HEVO as Director of Power Electronics.
Kerim Colak has an extensive educational background. Kerim obtained a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering from Istanbul Technical University between 1994 and 1998. Kerim then went on to pursue a Master's Degree in Energy Systems Engineering from Gebze Technical University between 2000 and 2003. Finally, they earned their Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Electrical Engineering (Power Systems & Power Electronics) from New York University between 2008 and 2013.
