Ellen Friedman

Principal Technologist at Hewlett Packard Enterprise

Ellen Friedman has a rich and diverse work experience spanning over several years. Ellen most recently worked at Hewlett Packard Enterprise as a Principal Technologist since February 2020. Prior to this, Ellen served as a Thought Leader at H2O.ai from December 2019 to April 2021.

From 2012 to 2019, they held a significant role at MapR Technologies, where they served as a Principal Technologist, Author, and Committer for the Apache Software Foundation. Their responsibilities included content development, community development for open source software, and technical training for the systems engineering team.

Before that, Ellen held the position of Director on Board at the University of Sheffield in America, Inc. from July 2009 to December 2019. Additionally, they worked as a Science and Education Consultant, Technical Writer from June 2005 to August 2012.

As an Independent Consultant, starting in 2005, Ellen worked as an Educational Evaluator until 2011. Ellen also served as a Curriculum Developer for STEM Education at California State University, Dominguez Hills from January 2005 to June 2005.

Ellen's work experience also includes a position as a Staff Developer at the Biological Sciences Curriculum Study from January 1993 to December 1996. In this role, they were involved in curriculum development and professional development for STEM education projects supported by grants from the National Science Foundation and the U.S. Department of Energy.

Ellen Friedman holds a PhD in Biochemistry from Rice University.
