Tom Simons

Tom Simons is a seasoned technology professional with extensive experience in the telecommunications and IT sectors. Currently serving as Chief Technologist for Global Accounts at Hewlett-Packard since 2014, Tom leads technical strategy development for HP products and services in the Cable, Media, and Entertainment industries, focusing on NFV, SDN, OpenStack Cloud, and networking. Prior to HP, Tom worked at Oracle as a Global Account Architect, driving technical strategies for major telecommunications providers, and held various roles at Sun Microsystems, including Architectural Manager and CTO Architect, where technical leadership and product development were key responsibilities. Earlier in Tom's career at Motorola, leadership in the development of wireless infrastructure architecture and communication protocols was paramount. Tom holds a Master's Degree in Computer Engineering from National Technological University and a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering with a minor in Computer Science from the University of Minnesota.
