Head of Data at Hex

Erika Pullum has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. Erika is currently serving as the Head of Data at Hex since February 2023. Prior to that, they worked as a Sr Analytics Engineer at Hex from December 2021 to January 2023. Before joining Hex, Erika was a Senior Analytics Engineer at Aula from May 2021 to November 2021.

Before transitioning into analytics roles, Erika gained valuable experience in the manufacturing industry. Erika worked at Shaw Industries for several years, holding different positions. Erika served as a Sr Manager Analytics from October 2019 to May 2021. Earlier, they worked as a Business Insights & Analytics Manager - Manufacturing from April 2019 to October 2019. Before transitioning to analytics, Erika worked as a Sr Process Engineer in the Fibers Division from February 2017 to April 2019. Erika also worked as a Production Department Manager from July 2016 to February 2017, and earlier as a Sr Process Engineer from July 2014 to March 2015. During this time, they led process development, developed a splunk platform for real-time process monitoring, and successfully scaled up a first-in-the-world process.

In addition to their industry experience, Erika has also worked as a Graduate Student Researcher at Northwestern University from September 2012 to December 2013. Erika started their career as a Research Intern at Harvard University from May 2011 to February 2012. Erika also gained experience as a Summer Student at MITRE in 2010 and as a Research Intern at the Engineered Fluids Lab, Franklin W. Olin College of Engineering from January 2009 to May 2010.

From 2008 to 2012, Erika Pullum attended Franklin W. Olin College of Engineering, where they earned a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Materials Engineering. Following their undergraduate studies, from 2012 to 2014, they pursued a Master of Science (MS) degree in Materials Engineering at Northwestern University. In addition to their formal education, Erika also possesses a certification as a Six Sigma Black Belt, however, the specific institution where they obtained this certification, as well as the month and year, are not provided.
