Joyce Liaw

Joyce Liaw's work experience begins with their current role as Vice President of Finance at HIBio, starting in 2022. Previously, they worked at Genentech, where they held various positions. Their most recent role at Genentech was as Senior Director of R&D Finance, which they held from November 2021 to March 2022. Before that, they served as the Director of R&D Finance, responsible for finance support to the gRED Early Stage Portfolio Committee and the Portfolio Management & Operations Management Team. Joyce also worked as a Senior Finance Manager in R&D and Partnering Finance, where they managed finance aspects of internal R&D programs and business development deals. As a part of Genentech's Finance Rotational Development Program, Joyce completed rotations in Biologics Manufacturing Finance, Roche Investor Relations, and R&D Partnering Finance. Joyce also gained experience in venture capital as an Associate at Burrill & Company/MLSCF from 2009 to 2013 and in corporate and business development at Evolva SA (formerly Abunda Nutrition Inc.) from 2011 to 2012. Joyce started their career as a Research Assistant at Caltech in 2007.

Joyce Liaw holds a Bachelor of Science (Honors) degree in Biology from Caltech. Apart from their undergraduate studies, they also pursued further education at Harvard Business School, where they obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree.
