Miriam Feffer

Vice President, Development at HIAS

Miriam Feffer is the Vice President of Development at HIAS. Miriam has held this position since September 2012. Prior to that, they were the Director of Development at Apollo Alliance from September 2012 to August 2013. In that role, they led fundraising for the 501(c)(4) strategy center of the progressive movement and its sister 501(c)(3) educational arm. Miriam also oversaw the annual major gift campaigns to secure unrestricted and targeted program support, spearheaded the robust foundation relations program, revitalized online efforts in partnership with innovative web team, and managed donor recognition events, including annual awards gala.

From January 2007 to September 2012, Feffer served as the Director of Institutional Advancement for Rachel's Network. In that role, they advanced the development of influential community of women environmental funders. Miriam also fostered productive partnerships among members, maintained operational excellence, helmed board relations, and sustained financial resilience through foundation and individual giving programs. Additionally, they promoted women as impassioned leaders and agents of change dedicated to the stewardship of the earth.

Before their work in development, Feffer served as the Communications Manager for Charles E. Smith Jewish Day School from January 2004 to December 2007.

Miriam Feffer has a BA in Anthropology and American Studies from Brandeis University. Miriam is currently studying toward their Ph.D. in Sociocultural and Linguistic Anthropology at the University of Chicago.

Miriam Feffer reports to Melanie Nezer, Senior Vice President, Public Affairs. Miriam Feffer works with Naomi Steinberg - Vice President, Policy and Advocacy, Bill Swersey - VP, Communications, and Merrill Zack - Vice President, Community Engagement.
