Robinson Mito has experience working as a Legal Protection Officer at HIAS since 2018. In this role, they lead protection needs assessments, program design, and emergency response planning and management. Robinson establishes and maintains constructive relationships with implementing partners and stakeholders, such as UNHCR and Refugees Affairs Secretariat - Kenya. Robinson also coordinates project implementation plans and budgets for UNHCR, BPRM, and UNVFVT within the response program and strategy.
Prior to HIAS, Robinson worked as a Legal Consultant at Digital Divide Data (DDD) starting in 2014. Robinson conducted legal research, analyzed legal documents, and ensured their quality in both English and French. These documents included United Nations resolutions, UNHCR works, and ILO works.
Additionally, Robinson volunteered as a Resettlement Officer at UNHCR in 2013.
Robinson Mito obtained a Bachelor's degree in International Private Law from Université Hassan II Mohammedia in 2014. Robinson then pursued further education and completed a Master's degree in International Law and Legal Studies from Geneva Graduate Institute between 2021 and 2023. Additionally, they have obtained certifications as an Alternative Dispute Resolution Specialist from the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb) in October 2022, and as an IAB Digital Marketing and Media Foundations from Google Digital Skills For Africa in June 2021.
