Ashley LaCayo

Ashley LaCayo has a wealth of experience in the field of microbiology. Ashley began their career in 2011 as an Undergraduate Plant Science Research Assistant at South Dakota State University, where they submitted a research proposal, raised and monitored progeny populations, collected flowering times, and conducted germination tests. In 2013, they held an REU Internship at Sanford Health. From 2014-2016, they worked at Medtox Laboratories as a Clinical Screens Technologist. Ashley then moved to Ativa Medical, where they held the roles of Microbiologist, Lab Safety Coordinator and Research Technician. In this role, they gained experience in understanding and implementing new concepts within a technical discipline, collaborating with colleagues to achieve group goals, leading and coordinating studies, writing lab procedures, managing labs, and coordinating safety compliance. From 2019-2021, Ashley worked as a Microbiologist IV at Perrigo Company plc. Ashley is currently employed as a Research Associate II at HiberCell.
