Anthony Cox, PE has extensive work experience in various roles related to operations, maintenance, and facilities management. Anthony is currently serving as the Director of Operations and Maintenance at Hickory Public Schools. Prior to this, they worked as a Senior Facilities Engineer at AJC Consulting.

From 2010 to 2020, Anthony served in multiple high-level positions at Rock Hill School District, including Chief Operating Officer, Chief Procurement Officer, Deputy Superintendent, and Associate Superintendent. In these roles, they were responsible for overseeing various functions such as academics, operations, finance, human resources, marketing, and communication for a large public school district with 18,000 students and 2,400 employees.

Before joining Rock Hill School District, Anthony worked as the Assistant Superintendent for Operations at Burke County Public Schools from 2008 to 2010. In this position, they supervised facilities management, construction, transportation, food service, purchasing, warehousing, safety, environmental, energy, custodial, and daycare departments for 30 schools and five office sites.

Prior to that, Anthony held the role of Energy Director at Catawba County Schools from 2004 to 2008. Anthony was responsible for creating and directing the District-wide Energy Management Conservation Program and provided technical leadership, management, and training for energy teams.

Anthony's earlier career includes roles in the Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC), Mid-Atlantic, where they served as the Regional Facilities Operations Officer from 2002 to 2004. Anthony directed all long-range capital and construction planning, as well as facilities operations and management for a significant portfolio of buildings and acres.

Before transitioning into the civilian sector, Anthony served in the US Navy Civil Engineer Corps as a Commander from 1982 to 2004. Their final position was as the Public Works Director and Contracting Officer at Norfolk Naval Shipyard, where they managed facilities maintenance, utilities, transportation, engineering, and construction for the shipyard and a medical center.

Anthony Cox, PE, completed their Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Civil Engineering from Clemson University in the years 1979 to 1983. Subsequently, they pursued a Master of Engineering (MEng) degree in Environmental Health Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin, from 1990 to 1992. Additionally, they obtained a Master of Arts (M.A.) degree in Strategic Studies from the U.S. Naval War College between 1995 and 1996.
