Jeff McKelvey

Principal Development Lead at HiConversion

Jeff McKelvey has a wealth of experience in software development and engineering. Jeff started their career at Unico, where they worked as a Systems Engineer, developing system applications for embedded motor control systems. After that, they joined Rockwell Software as a Software Engineer, where they created graphical user interface software for industrial controllers.

Jeff then became the President and Co-founder of Senica Software, a startup that focused on developing applications for medical device OEMs. During their time there, they worked on architecting, designing, building, and testing various products, including an imaging application and network routing software for medical clinics.

In 2005, Jeff joined Microsoft as a Senior Software Development Engineer in the Windows Core OS team, where they built data management systems and developed web-based systems using ASP.NET MVC. Jeff later became a Senior Development Lead in the Windows Licensing and Deployment team, responsible for optimizing the construction of Windows and managing the flow of Windows bits through the release cycle.

In 2013, Jeff founded m-Four Labs, a company that specialized in building machine-to-machine communication solutions for the Microsoft ecosystem. The solutions were designed around industry-standard MQTT and catered to enterprises invested in the Microsoft platform.

Currently, Jeff is working at Obviyo (formerly HiConversion) as a Principal Development Lead. Jeff'sresponsibilities include building HiConversion Recommend, integrating the big data pipeline with Amazon Personalize to provide a personalized experience on the Shopify ecommerce platform. Jeff also manages an offshore development team by providing architecture and design input as well as code reviews.

Jeff McKelvey completed their Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee between 1989 and 1992. Jeff then pursued their Master of Science in Electrical Engineering (MSEE) specializing in Electromagnetics from the same university from 1992 to 1993. Later, Jeff pursued post-graduate studies in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin-Madison from 1993 to 1995.
