Doug Wilcox

Doug Wilcox has a diverse work experience in the field of animation and technical direction. Doug started their career as a 3D artist at Zombie in 1995 and later joined Zipper Interactive in 1998, where they worked as a Lead Animator on various game franchises, including MechWarrior 3, SOCOM, and MAG. During their time at Zipper Interactive, Doug also contributed to character modeling, rendering cinematics, rigging, animation, and character UI work. Doug then transitioned to roles such as Animation Consultant at Camouflaj, Animator at Valkyrie Entertainment, Technical Director at Run Studios, and Animator, Face TD, and Lead Animator at PlayStation's Bend Studio. At PlayStation, Doug's responsibilities included rigging, pipeline development, technical animation, team leadership, and the creation of scan-based face rigs. After that, they joined Outpost Games as an Animator and Face TD for the SOS project, and High Fidelity, Inc. as a Technical Animator and VR Researcher, focusing on user-generated content in the metaverse. Currently, Doug works as an Animation Technical Director at Hidden Path Entertainment since 2020. Doug'sskills include rapid prototyping, Unreal Engine, animation authoring, stategraph implementation, C++, and JavaScript.

Doug Wilcox completed a C++ Certificate Program at the University of Washington in 2018-2019. Prior to that, they attended the CG Circuit Face Rigging Workshop with Nico Sanghrajka in 2016 and the iAnimate Face Rigging Certificate with Jonah Austin in 2013-2014. In 2012, they completed the Animals and Creatures Certificate Program at Animation Mentor, followed by the Character Animation Program at the same institution in 2011-2012. Doug'shighest level of education is a Masters of Communication for Digital Media from the University of Washington, which they obtained from 2004-2009.
