Dr David Washington (DWash) has a long and varied career in the entertainment industry, government, and corporate sector. In 2021, they began serving as Senior Advisor for Social Impact for Rosario Dawson. Prior to this, they were Co-Founder & Chief Impact Officer at HiDef, Inc. from 2020 to 2021. From 2017 to 2020, they were Senior Advisor for Philanthropy & Policy for Alicia Keys. From 2011 to 2017, they were Advisory Board Member for Lady Gaga's Born This Way Foundation, and from 2009 to 2011, they were Interim CEO / Founding Consultant for Change the Equation and Startup America Partnership. From 2008 to 2009, they were Special Assistant to the Director of Intergovernmental Affairs & Public Engagement for the Presidential Transition Team - Obama Administration. Additionally, they were Founder & CEO of Partnerships for Purpose (P4P) from 2003 to 2008. In 2022, they will begin serving as Senior Advisor for Culture Leader, Celebrity & Influencer Strategy for Karen Bass for Los Angeles Mayor Campaign.
Dr David Washington (DWash) began their educational journey at Yale University, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Psychology from 1990 to 1994. Dr David then spent a semester abroad at the University of Oxford in 1993. After that, they attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, where they earned a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Clinical Psychology from 1995 to 1999, as well as a Master of Legal Studies in Law from 1997 to 1999. Finally, they completed a Clinical Psychology PhD Internship Year at Harvard Medical School from 2000 to 2001.
