Maurice Ramirez

Maurice Ramirez, D.O., Ph.D. has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of disaster medicine and emergency response. Maurice co-founded and served as the Chairperson of the High Alert Institute, an organization dedicated to disaster education, planning, preparedness, response, and recovery.

Maurice also worked as a Senior Physician/Federal Medical Officer for the National Disaster Medical System/US Department of Health and Human Services, where they provided medical care in the wake of disasters and supervised teams in various locations. Additionally, they served as a Physician on the State Medical Response Team for the Florida Department of Health, providing direct medical care and supervising staff.

Dr. Ramirez has also worked as an Independent Emergency Physician, providing services at multiple hospitals across Florida. Maurice has served as an Owner/Physician and held leadership positions such as Chief of Staff and Chief of Emergency Medicine.

Their experience also includes being a Professional Speaker, sharing their expertise in disaster medicine, and volunteering in disaster response efforts since 1980. Maurice has been involved in organizations like the American Academy of Disaster Medicine and the American Board of Disaster Medicine, playing crucial roles in their formation.

Currently, they hold the position of Chief Strategic and Planning Officer at Raisonance, where they focus on integrating AI/ML solutions and traditional software development culture. Maurice Ramirez, D.O., Ph.D. obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Arts and Sciences from The Union Institute and University in 2008. Prior to that, they graduated from Des Moines University in 1991 with a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree in Osteopathic Medicine. In 1986, they earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology & Nutrition from Florida State after completing an Associates of Arts degree in General Studies from Valencia Community College in 1982. Maurice also holds a Diploma in College Prep from Bishop Moore Catholic High School, which they completed in 1982. Maurice has additional certifications in various fields, including Regulatory Affairs Certification and Osteopathic Medicine.
