Dean Sheley

Dean Sheley has over 20 years of experience in the field of information technology and security. Dean'smost recent position was as an Information Technology Senior Security Architect and Consultant at High Point Networks, where they played a key role in ensuring the company's security. Prior to that, they served as the Chief Information Security Officer at the South Dakota Board of Regents, overseeing the cybersecurity program for six public universities. Dean also worked as an Information Security Analyst at Meta Payment Systems, where they conducted third-party security audits and was involved in incident response. Dean gained extensive experience in information security at Citi, where they held various roles, including Senior Information Security Analyst and Continuity of Business and Information Security and Assurance Senior Analyst. Dean began their career as a Systems and Network Administrator at RDI - R&D Industries, Inc. and Southeast Technical Institute, where they were responsible for maintaining and improving the computing infrastructure. Throughout their career, Dean has demonstrated expertise in implementing and optimizing information security measures and has worked across various industries such as education, finance, and technology.

Dean Sheley has a diverse education history. Dean obtained a Master's degree in Cyber Operations / Information Security and Assurance from Dakota State University Graduate School, which they attended from 2011 to 2016. Prior to that, from 1996 to 1998, they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science and Organizational Psychology at Buena Vista University. Dean also holds an Associate of Science degree in Computer and Information Sciences, General, which they earned from Iowa Lakes Community College between 1994 and 1996.

In addition to their formal education, Dean has obtained several certifications. Dean obtained the Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification from (ISC)² in July 2011.
