Andrew Wiles

Andrew Wiles has extensive work experience in research and development roles in various companies. Andrew is currently the Vice President of Research and Development at High Q Technologies, where they focus on developing quantum-enabled scientific instruments for biophysical and chemical analysis. Prior to this, Wiles worked at Northern Digital Inc. (NDI) for over 20 years, holding positions such as Director of Research and Development, Senior Manager of Architecture and Research, and Manager of Advanced Research. In these roles, they led cross-functional teams, defined strategic directions, and developed innovative roadmaps for the company. Wiles also served as a Senior Account Manager and Senior Scientist in the medical division of NDI, where they managed medical OEM accounts, resolved customer issues, and conducted research projects. Before joining NDI, they worked as a Consulting Research Scientist and Research Scientist, focusing on tracking technologies and measurement performance. Wiles has also been involved in academia, serving as an Adjunct Assistant Professor at The University of Western Ontario, collaborating with the Imaging Group at the Robarts Research Institute. Andrew holds a PhD in a related field and gained initial industry experience as a Jr. System Engineering Intern at Surgical Navigation Specialists Inc., where they tested and evaluated the integration of 3D optical position sensor systems. Overall, Wiles has a strong background in research and development, particularly in the field of tracking technologies for medical applications.

Andrew Wiles completed their Bachelor of Applied Science in Systems Design Engineering at the University of Waterloo from 1996 to 2001. Andrew then pursued a Master of Applied Science in Systems Design Engineering at the same institution from 2004 to 2006. Andrew furthered their education at Western University, where they obtained their Ph.D. in Medical Biophysics from 2006 to 2009. Before attending university, Andrew completed their secondary education at Waterloo Collegiate Institute from 1993 to 1996.
