Christopher Tankelewicz began their work experience as a Detective in the Philadelphia Police Department in 1991. During their time there, they held various roles in units such as the 4th Police District, Northeast Detective Division, Dignitary Protection Unit, Homeland Security Unit, and the FBI's Joint Terrorism Task Force. In 2006, they became the Detective and Director of the Technical Services Unit for the Philadelphia District Attorney's Office. In this role, they supervised the unit and conducted wiretaps, cellular phone forensics investigations, and consensual electronic surveillance. In 2007, they founded ThinkTank Forensics, a company that provided digital forensic services. Christopher also worked as an Adjunct Professor at Chestnut Hill College from 2007 to 2015. In 2015, they joined the Delaware County Criminal Investigation Division as a Detective and Senior Forensic Examiner. Most recently, they have served as the President of the Delaware Valley Chapter of the High Technology Crime Investigation Association since 2021.

Christopher Tankelewicz attended several educational institutions throughout their life. From 1982 to 1986, they attended North Catholic, although the field of study and degree obtained are unknown. In 2001 to 2002, they enrolled in Pennco Technical Institute to study Computer Programming. However, they did not indicate whether they obtained a degree during that period. Lastly, from 2005 to 2007, Christopher attended the Community College of Philadelphia, although no specific degree or field of study was mentioned.

In terms of additional certifications, Christopher obtained various qualifications. Additionally, in 2023, they received several certifications such as Certified Forensic Mac Examiner from SUMURI, Exterro ACE from Exterro Academy, and various certifications (Cellebrite Certified Logical Operator, Cellebrite Certified Mobile Examiner, and Cellebrite Certified Physical Analyst) from Cellebrite.
