Derrick Nielsen

Derrick Nielsen has been involved in a variety of professional roles since 1990. In 1990, they served as a volunteer teacher for Georgetown University Volunteers in Southern Africa. Derrick then worked as a Researcher / Investigator for the Truth and Reconciliation Commission from 1996 to 1998. From 1998 to 2004, they served as a Consultant for Legasus Group, where they developed client relationships and facilitated organizational development processes. From 2004 to 2015, they were Vice President of People Operations and Vice President of Organizational Development at The Charles Machine Works Inc. From 2015 to 2016, they were a Board Member at Harper Industries, Inc. In 2020, they became a Board Member at Emprise Bank. In 2021, they became a Board Member at Star Lumber & Supply and an Advisory Board Member at WSU Tech. Derrick is currently serving as President & CEO of High Touch Technologies.

Derrick Nielsen attended The University of Kansas from 1985 to 1986, where they studied Political Science. Derrick then moved to Georgetown University, where they obtained a B.A. with honors in Government major, Russian minor between 1986 and 1989. After that, they pursued a DPhil research focused on the politics of change in South Africa at the University of Oxford from 1991 to 1995. Derrick also obtained a Cybersecurity Fundamentals for Sales certification from ConnectWise in July 2020.
