Kimberly Yates is currently the Manager of Grants at Higher Achievement. Kimberly has previous experience working as a Volunteer Recruiter, Assistant, and Intern. Kimberly Yates began their career as an intern at Burson-Marsteller in the Worldwide Headquarters Practice. Kimberly then became a Fellow at Forward NC. In January 2016, they began working as an Assistant at The Glover Park Group. Kimberly took on the role of Volunteer Recruiter at Higher Achievement in July 2017. In this position, they conducted introductory interviews, led orientations, and helped mentors complete the necessary requirements to work with Higher Achievement's student population. Kimberly was promoted to Manager of Grants in October 2017.

Kimberly Yates has a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Mass Communication as well as Public Relations from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Kimberly also has a certification from FEMA in National Incident Management System (NIMS) An Introduction, and another certification from FEMA in National Incident Management System (NIMS) Public Information Systems.
