Tony MacHado

Tony Machado, RA, AIA, currently serves as the Senior Vice President and Head of Design at Highgate since January 2024. Prior experience includes founding Studio Machado and holding the position of Principal from 2022 to January 2024. Machado has a strong background in design leadership, demonstrated through roles such as Senior Vice President of Design at SH Hotels & Resorts and Vice President of Design at Starwood Capital Group. Notable projects include contributions to high-profile developments like the Vdara Hotel & Spa in Las Vegas and the Rosewood Hotel in Abu Dhabi. Earlier in the career, Machado held key positions at Morgans Hotel Group, BBG-BBGM, MGM Citycenter, Graham Downes Architecture, and Ferguson Pape Baldwin Architects, overseeing various design and construction phases. Academic qualifications include a degree in Architecture and Art History from Syracuse University and a BA in Environmental Design from San Diego State University.
