Highlands Behavioral Health System
Evan Thompson is a psychiatrist currently serving at Highlands Behavioral Health System since July 2022. Previously, Evan completed a Forensic Psychiatry Fellowship at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus from July 2021 to July 2022, and worked as a Staff Psychiatrist at Centurion Health from July 2019 to August 2021. Evan's training includes a Psychiatry Residency at the University of Kansas Medical Center from June 2017 to June 2021. Educational qualifications include a Doctor of Osteopathy from Touro University Nevada, earned from July 2013 to May 2017, followed by a fellowship in Forensic Psychiatry at the University of Colorado from August 2021 to May 2022.

Highlands Behavioral Health System is an 86-bed freestanding behavioral health hospital offering psychiatric care for adults and adolescents ages 11 and older. The facility is easily accessible to families throughout the Denver metro area. Our clinical services are delivered by experienced mental health professionals. Once a patient is admitted, he or she receives a detailed evaluation as part of the admission process. An interdisciplinary team then creates an individualized treatment plan for the patient that includes acute care treatment, solution-focused treatment and thorough discharge planning.
