Maryna Karnaukh is an experienced educator with a strong background in teaching English as a second language and instructional support across various academic settings. Currently serving as the Independent Study International High School Lead Teacher at Highlands Community Charter and Technical Schools since February 2017, Maryna has previously held positions as an English Second Language Instructional Assistant at American River College, an Instructional Student Assistant at California State University-Sacramento, and an English as a Second Language Tutor at American River College. Starting their career as an English as a Foreign Language Instructor at Kyiv School of English, Maryna has developed a comprehensive skill set in designing lesson plans and facilitating language acquisition for diverse learners. Highlands Community Charter School believes it is "Never Too Late to Graduate!"​ We provide adult high school completion along with career training to students who are 22 years of age or older, and who haven't yet earned their U.S. High School Diploma. Highlands Community Charter School also provides elementary English Language Development for adults who are learning English as a Second Language (ESL), and helps these students to learn other basic skills, to prepare them towards earning a U.S. diploma and entering the U.S. workforce. All at NO COST!
