Network Automation Engineer at Highline

Katharine Ketchum is currently a Network Automation Engineer at Highline. Previously, they worked as a Network Engineer 1 at Cox Communications from March 2020 to July 2021, on the Network Automation Team. Prior to that, they were a Network Engineer 1 on the Data Center Network Engineering Team from January 2019 to March 2020. From May 2017 to December 2018, they were a Network Engineering Automation Co-op, during which time they enabled network automation technologies in order to decrease time and labor spent by network engineers on device configuration and maintenance. Katharine also decreased configuration time for Juniper QFX 5110s from 20 minutes to 30 seconds, saving an average of 19,500 hours when deploying 1,000 new devices in a data center. In addition, they worked with Network Engineering and Operations teams to implement device configuration standards into the automation framework, and implemented automation technologies by learning Ansible, Jinja, Tufin, Docker, and Git, leading to the successful automation of device configurations, firewall ticket requests, and data center automation.

Their manager is Todd Witten, Senior Network Automation Engineer.
