Phyllis Barber

Phyllis Barber serves as the ESG & Sustainability Director and Sustainability Consultant at Highmark Health since January 2019, where responsibilities include implementing an enterprise environmental sustainability strategy and measuring key performance indicators related to GHG emissions using the GHG Protocol. Prior experience includes a role as a Sustainability Consultant at Highmark Inc. from May 2007 to December 2018, where Phyllis launched the company's first environmental sustainability program, engaged employees in eco-friendly practices, and co-founded a local sustainability coordinator peer network. Additional positions held include Internal Audit Team Leader at Highmark Inc. (2002-2007), managing internal controls and supervising staff auditors, and Audit Manager at Deloitte (1995-2002), specializing in the audits of not-for-profit organizations and higher education. Phyllis holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting from the University of Notre Dame and a Master's in Sustainable Leadership from Chatham University.
