Joshua L. Stayn

Joshua L. Stayn serves as HighSage’s Chief Legal Officer and Chief Compliance Officer.

Mr. Stayn is a strategic, business-minded legal leader with nearly two decades of in-house and law firm experience advising and helping lead the legal and compliance functions of investment management and other private and public companies, including Highfields Capital Management LP and Brookfield Renewable Partners L.P., North America. Before going in-house, Mr. Stayn spent several years handling complex securities, tax, regulatory, and compliance matters at Goodwin LLP, wound up a multifaceted estate, and clerked for a federal judge in Boston.

Mr. Stayn received his A.B. magna cum laude from Harvard College and his J.D. and M.P.P. from Duke University, where he was an editor of the Duke Law Journal and a teaching assistant to a leading expert in philanthropy, foundations, and not-for-profit law. He and his wife reside with their two boys in Wellesley, MA.
