Debashis Basak

Debashis Basak has worked in the technology industry for over 25 years, with experience in networking and security products, telecommunications, and cloud computing. Debashis was most recently Chief Technology Officer at Highway9 Networks Inc., and previously held leadership roles at VMware, including VP Engineering for VMware HCX technologies, VP of R&D for vCloud Air, and Senior Director of R&D for Networking and Security. Prior to their time at VMware, they co-founded Blue Lane Technologies and was Director/Network Architect at AcceLight Networks. Basak began their career as a Lead Engineer at Fore Systems, a leader in ATM network switching technology.

Debashis Basak completed their ICSE and ISC degrees from St. Joseph's Academy, Dehradun in the years between 1975 and 1987. Debashis went on to pursue a B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi between 1987 and 1991. Basak then continued their higher studies in the United States of America at The Ohio State University where they obtained a PhD in Computer and Information Sciences between 1991 and 1996.
