Damián D'Onia

Business Development Engineer at Higlobe

Damián D'Onia has a diverse work experience spanning over several years. Damián started their career as a Software Developer at Lynx Estadística y Sistemas in 1994. Damián then worked as a Co-Owner and CTO at Lemma Informatica from 1997 to 2000, where they were responsible for managing various technology projects for different clients.

In 2001, Damián became a Partner and CTO at Aper before moving on to Pragma Consultores in 2002. At Pragma Consultores, they held multiple roles, including Senior Software Engineer Team Lead, CMMI Level 2 Project Lead, Technical Quality Services Lead, and Head of Technology Services.

In 2009, Damián joined Despegar.com as the Head of Business Intelligence and New Projects Lead. Damián stayed with the company until 2012.

From 2012 to 2013, Damián worked as an R&D Software Developer at Keepcon.

In 2012, Damián started working at Zillian as the CEO's Advisor, and the following year, they became the CTO, leading the development and operation of the platform. Damián coordinated a distributed team across four sites in Argentina and Italy.

Damián joined Xapo in 2014 as the WebApp Dev Lead and later took on roles as Xapo World Tech Lead, Debit Card Tech Lead, and Head of Data. Damián remained with Xapo until 2020.

In 2020, Damián joined Hopin as the Engineering Manager for Data & Analytics, and later transitioned to the role of Staff System Engineer. Damián left the company in September 2021.

Most recently, in December 2021, Damián started working as a Business Development Engineer at Higlobe.

Throughout their career, Damián has gained extensive experience in technology leadership, software development, project management, and business intelligence.

Damián D'Onia obtained a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from the University of Buenos Aires, where they studied from 1992 to 2003. Later, they pursued further education and earned a Master's degree in Management Information Systems from the Universidad del Salvador, having studied there from 2006 to 2008.
