Gabe Fried

Gabe Fried began liquidating intangibles when he was retained by Hilco in 2000 to dispose of his former employer’s digital and trademark assets. Now he is Hilco Streambank’s CEO and can credit his experience at Hilco with teaching him several valuable lessons regarding the industry.

Prior to joining Hilco Gabe pioneered the distressed brokerage of intangibles during his roles as liquidator, auctioneer, investor, buyer’s agent, expert witness, and appraiser. Gabe launched Streambank when it was time to build a team, and the Streambank team joined Hilco in 2011.

During this initial assignment, Gabe developed his knowledge of the market needs, intangible asset disposition expertise, understanding of the assets is key to running a successful sale, and how the exclusive nature of intangibles creates strategic value for the owner not found in other asset classes.

Gabe has a Bachelor of Arts degree (with honors) from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst and was a PhD candidate in economics at the University of Illinois, Champaign–Urbana.
