John Dinnegan

John is a partner in the pensions team and has extensive experience advising corporates and pension scheme trustees, with a particular focus on restructuring and regulatory investigations.

John joined the firm in 2020 having previously worked at Simmons & Simmons and Burges Salmon. His experience includes advising on scheme mergers, various buy-in/outs of liabilities with large insurance companies, and regulatory investigations.

John has advised extensively on pension restructuring projects including a number of Company Voluntary Arrangements pursuant to which employer liabilities to defined benefit pension schemes were compromised. He has also provided advice and drafted documentation relating to a number of Regulated Apportionment Arrangements under which pension scheme liabilities were transferred to the Pension Protection Fund. In addition, he has advised pension trustees and corporates on a number of investigations instigated by the Pensions Regulator.
