Simon is a partner in the Real Estate team. He undertakes a wide range of commercial property transactions with particular emphasis on the development of brownfield sites.

Simon qualified as a solicitor in 1990 and having originally trained in Northampton, moved to Liverpool in 1993 to work at the niche property firm of Bullivant Jones (where he was made up to a partner) and then following a merger, Hill Dickinson.

Simon’s particular expertise is in undertaking the redevelopment of brownfield sites in the retail and industrial sector. He has extensive experience in acting for developers from the initial stages of securing the site (whether by way of an option, conditional or unconditional contract or via a joint venture arrangement), through the planning process, to the redevelopment of the site and its onward sale This includes the negotiation of planning agreements; Agreements for Lease incorporating development obligations; the occupational Lease; and the funding of the scheme as a whole, whether via a bank or through forward fund.
