Nicolas Lopez

Nicolas Lopez is an experienced Embedded Software Engineer currently working at Hill & Smith Inc. since August 2023. Nicolas is also the Founder of AscensionWx, a weather technology company focused on low-cost radiosondes and ground sensors for weather and climate data collection in West Africa and developing countries. Previous experience includes roles as a Software Engineer at ZedaSoft, Inc. and Boeing, where Nicolas developed software for defense aviation simulation and C++ applications for next-generation aircraft, respectively. Earlier contributions to NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center involved deploying algorithm software for the Goes-R weather satellite ground system, along with significant research roles at Florida State University and various summer assistantships in reputable organizations such as Sandia National Laboratories, NOAA, and the U.S. Naval Research Laboratory. Nicolas holds a Master of Science in Computational Science and dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Computational Science and Meteorology from Florida State University.
