Assistant State Attorney, Major Crimes/homicide at Hillsborough County State Attorney's Office, 13th Judicial Circuit

Michelle Doherty has extensive experience in the legal field, currently serving as an Assistant State Attorney at the State Attorney's Office for the 13th Judicial Circuit since January 1999. Throughout this tenure, Michelle has held various leadership roles, including Administrative Chief of Major Crimes, Chief of the Sex Offender/Child Abuse Division, and Felony Division Chief, demonstrating a strong focus on major crime and homicide cases. Additionally, from May 2015 to July 2019, Michelle contributed to academia as an Adjunct Instructor at the University of South Florida, where responsible for designing and teaching an online course related to Crime Scene Investigations for Violent Crimes. Michelle earned a Juris Doctor degree from Syracuse University College of Law and a Bachelor of Science in Political Science from Florida State University.
