Geetika Bansal

Geetika Bansal has extensive work experience in the finance industry, with a focus on mortgage-backed securities (MBS) and collateralized mortgage obligations (CMO). From 2002 to 2006, they worked as a Fixed Income Market Analyst at FTN Financial. Geetika then joined Countrywide Securities Corporation as a Lead Quantitative Analyst from 2006 to 2008.

In 2008, Bansal joined Duncan Williams as a Senior Market Analyst. In this role, they provided monthly portfolio accounting and analytics to financial institutions, working closely with clients to reduce overall investment portfolio risk and improve earnings and income. Geetika also collaborated with the Sales and Trading teams to provide liquidity, risk analysis, and recommendations for enhancing investment portfolio performance.

Within Duncan Williams, Bansal was promoted to Vice President, Senior Mortgage Specialist in 2020. In this position, they worked on the trading desk as a trading strategist, finding value in MBS/CMO investments that align with clients' portfolio needs. Geetika also developed strategies within the MBS/CMO sector to meet client base asset/liability management (ALM) and balance sheet requirements. Additionally, Bansal provided training on MBS/CMO/CMBS securities and performance evaluation to sales and new investment portfolio managers.

Geetika Bansal currently holds the position of SVP, MBS Trading & Strategy at Hilltop Securities Inc., starting in 2023. Their role focuses on Agency Pools, CMOs, and Agency CMBS, and involves working closely with FICM Strategy & Analytics to enhance connectivity with middle-market investors. Geetika provides timely offerings, insight, and commentary into the broader U.S. market.
