Yvette Masaoka has a diverse work experience in the medical field. Yvette started their career as an RN at Hilo Medical Center in September 2010 and eventually became the Nursing Supervisor in March 2016. Later on, Yvette served as the Director of Nursing from January 2019 and continues in that role currently.

In addition to their work at Hilo Medical Center, Yvette also had a significant role in the US Army. Yvette joined the army in 1995 as a Senior Medical Advisor and served in that position until June 2016.

Overall, Yvette Masaoka has over two decades of experience in the medical field, with expertise in nursing, supervision, and leadership.

Yvette Masaoka's education history begins in 1993 when they attended Waiakea High School, where they completed their secondary education. Yvette then pursued a Bachelor's degree in Nursing at the University of Hawai'i System from 2005 to 2007. Later, in 2018, they enrolled in the University of Arkansas Grantham and completed a Master's degree in Nursing Education in 2019. Yvette continued their education at the same institution, and in 2021, they earned a second Master's degree in Health/Health Care Administration/Management. Currently, they are pursuing another Master's degree in Health Care Administration at the University of Arkansas Grantham, a program which began in 2021 and is expected to conclude in 2022.
