Krishnan Raghavan has extensive work experience in the oil and gas industry. Krishnan is currently serving as the Chief Technical Officer - Exploration & Development at Hindustan Oil Exploration Company, where they oversee the technical aspects of exploration and development projects. Prior to this, they held the position of Group Head - Exploration and Development at the same company.
Before joining Hindustan Oil Exploration Company, Krishnan worked at CNOOC International as a Specialist/Manager Petrophysics - Exploration & New Ventures. In this role, they were responsible for formation evaluation data acquisition planning, operations, and interpretations for conventional exploration assets in various regions. Krishnan also provided petrophysical data interpretation for new ventures farm-in and licensing applications.
Krishnan has also worked as a Consultant Geoscientist for independent oil and gas exploration and development companies. In this role, they provided technical consulting services, geological and petrophysical consulting and interpretation, and acted as a sub-surface advisor for farming-in and new ventures.
Earlier in their career, Krishnan worked as a Lead Petrophysicist at Brunei Shell Petroleum, where they played a key role in planning, operations, and interpretation of high-pressure, high-temperature (HPHT) wells. Krishnan also evaluated numerous wells' formation evaluation data for the Exploration Department.
At Hardy Exploration & Production, Krishnan started as an Operations Geologist and later transitioned into a Petrophysicist role. Krishnan was involved in planning, operations, and interpretation for both exploration and development wells. Krishnan also played a significant role in the revival and Phase 2 of the PY-3 Field through well data interpretations and studies.

Krishnan Raghavan pursued their bachelor's degree in Geology with Chemistry and Physics from Presidency College, Chennai, from 1982 to 1985. Afterward, they attended the Indian School of Mines, Dhanbad, where they completed their M.Sc.Tech. in Applied Geology from 1985 to 1988.
