Joanne Smith

Joanne Smith is an experienced school counselor currently serving as an Elementary School Counselor for Hingham Public Schools since August 2022 and as an Adjustment School Counselor at Hatherly Elementary School since October 2020. Joanne has also been a Guidance School Counselor for sixth grade at Lester J. Gates Middle School since January 2019 and has gained experience as a School Counselor Guidance Intern there since December 2017. Previous positions include Adjustment Counselor at Hanover Public Schools from September 2021 to August 2022 and founder of Calle's Miracle Run, a charitable event supporting pediatric brain cancer initiatives, from 2011 to 2013. Joanne's background in higher education includes various roles at Northeastern University, culminating as Senior Assistant Director in the Office of Alumni Relations, alongside earlier experience at Boston University in student activities and admissions. Joanne holds a Master of Science in College Student Development & Counseling and a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and Advertising/Communications from Northeastern University.
