Lori Benson is currently the Executive Director and CEO at Hip Hop Public Health. Lori has previously worked as a longarts in opleiding (aios) at Erasmus MC from November 2017 to April 2018, as well as an algemeen bestuurslid at De Jonge Specialist from October 2014 to September 2018.

Lori's experience in the medical field began when they did a stage at Erasmus MC during their training to become a longarts. In this large academic hospital, they gained experience with patient care around lung transplantation, cystic fibrosis, interstitial lung diseases and pulmonary hypertension. In addition, they did an internship in pulmonary infectious diseases, where they diagnosed and treated patients with mycobacterial infections, bronchiectasis and immune disorders.

As an algemeen bestuurslid at De Jonge Specialist, Lori was mainly responsible for the public relations of the organization and was involved in various projects from all pillars. Highlights from their time as a board member include the launch of a new and modern website, the founding of the AIOS Academy, a series of beautiful quarterly magazines and a huge increase in the presence of the organization on social media.

Lori Rose Benson has a Doctor of Medicine (MD) from Erasmus University Rotterdam in Algemene Geneeskunde and is a medical researcher from University of Florida in Medical research. Lori also has certification from Boerhaave Nascholing - LUMC in Stralingshygiëne, Erasmus MC in Artsexamen, Erasmus University Rotterdam in Doctoraal Geneeskunde, and EMWO in Good clinical practice.
