Steve Saunders

Steve Saunders is an accomplished professional specializing in sustainability and social value, currently serving as the ESG & Social Value Lead at Hippo since February 2023, where Steve is developing the company's inaugural social value strategy. Prior to this role, Steve was the Sustainability/Social Value Work Winning Manager at Laing O'Rourke from May 2021 to February 2023, where responsibilities included formulating pre-construction strategies for large civil engineering projects and creating a social value strategy with ambitious targets for 2030. Steve's experience also includes serving as the Sustainability Manager at Alun Griffiths (Contractors) Ltd, where the first Sustainability Strategy was developed, as well as roles at Hereford Football Club as Head of Academy and at Laing O'Rourke as both an Environmental Advisor and Graduate Civil Engineer. Steve holds a Master of Engineering in Civil Engineering from Cardiff University and an MBA in Sustainability Leadership from the University of Wales Trinity Saint David.
