Dustin Lane

Dustin Lane has a diverse work experience in the insurance industry. Dustin started their career at Armstrong Fairway Insurance Agency, Inc. in 2007, where they worked as a Personal Lines Insurance Agent. During this time, they gained valuable knowledge and skills in selling and servicing personal lines insurance policies. Dustin also assisted in training other agents on using comparative rating software and agency management systems.

In 2008, Dustin joined First American Financial Corporation as a Product Development Analyst in the Property and Casualty Group. Dustin worked in this role until 2011, where they contributed to the development and improvement of insurance products.

Following their time at First American Financial Corporation, Dustin moved on to Assurant, where they held several roles. From 2011 to 2019, they worked as a Product Development Manager, leading a team in turning around an unprofitable book of business. Dustin successfully reduced the loss ratio by 16% through the implementation of underwriting and pricing tools.

In 2019, Dustin was promoted to Director of Underwriting & Compliance at Assurant, where they further demonstrated their expertise in managing underwriting processes and ensuring compliance with regulations. Dustin held this position until 2021.

Dustin's most recent position is as an AVP of Product Management at Assurant, which they held from 2021 to 2022. In this role, they contributed to the strategic management and development of insurance products.

Currently, Dustin is working as a Product Implementation Manager at Hippo Insurance, starting in 2023.

Dustin Lane holds a B.A. degree with a double major in Political Science and History from UCLA. In addition to their undergraduate education, they have obtained several certifications throughout their career. Dustin obtained certifications in Data Science Methodology and Tools for Data Science from Coursera in February 2022. Dustin also completed the Excel Program at Assurant offered by Harvard Business Publishing Corporate Learning in May 2018. Furthermore, Dustin obtained the California Licensed Property and Casualty Broker-Agent certification from the California Department of Insurance in January 2007.
