Jen Heathcote

Head Of Investigative Science at Historic England

Jen Heathcote has over 20 years of work experience, with a focus on investigative science and research in the fields of historic environment and environmental impact analysis. Jen has held various roles at Historic England, including Head of Investigative Science, Head of Strategic Research & Partnerships Team, and Head of Historic Environment Intelligence Team. Prior to their work at Historic England, they were a Research Fellow at the University of Southampton.

Jen Heathcote obtained a Bachelor's Degree from the Institute of Archaeology, UCL in 1990. Subsequently, they completed a Master's Degree in Soil Sciences from the University of Reading in 1992. Later, they earned a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Archaeology from the University of London in 2004.
