Kaitlyn DeLong has a diverse work experience in the field of history and art. Kaitlyn started their career as a Senior Cataloguer at Paddle8, where they reviewed and verified the authenticity, condition, and provenance of fine art pieces. Kaitlyn also wrote descriptive content and assisted the marketing team. Later, they worked as a Collections Assistant at the Gilcrease Museum, where they inventoried, rehoused, and tracked the transportation of numerous ethnographic and archaeological objects. Following that, they served as a Repatriation Research Specialist at the Smithsonian Institution, conducting research on the provenance of objects claimed for repatriation by Native American and First Nation tribes. Kaitlyn then worked as an NAGPRA Specialist at the Lowe Art Museum, where they ensured compliance with NAGPRA regulations by assessing the Native American collection and conducting provenance research. Currently, they are a Research Historian at History Associates Incorporated, where they conduct archival research, creates educational content, and catalogs museum collections related to historical events and objects.

Kaitlyn DeLong completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in International Studies and Political Science from the University of Richmond in 2015. Later, in 2017, they pursued a Master of Science degree in Art History with a specialization in Collecting and Provenance in an International Context from the University of Glasgow.
